The Judicial Branch
-All the members of the judicial branch come from a legal profession.
-They work in the supreme court (the highest court in Canada).
-Their job is to check on the powers of other branches and to ensure that the rights of Canadians are respected.
-They apply the law by making legal judgement.
-There are seven supreme court judges.
-They are nominated by the Prime minister and the cabinet , and then
go through a review of a committee of MP's.

Canada's Lawmaking Process has been put in point form for you, just study the following 5 steps to learn about the process. Then you'll be prepared. ....................................................................
1)First reading- The bill is printed and made for the first time no debating happens during this stage.(in French and English.)
2)Second reading- Debate and vote on the principle of the bill.
3)Committee Stage- The bill is studied by MPs or senators including experts and citizens. They report issues with a recommendation to the bill.
4)Report Stage- Debate and vote on changes (amendments) to the bill.
5)Third Reading- Debate and vote on the final form of the bill.
